Professor Xie is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. His research interests include chemistry of boron, boron clusters, carboranes and metallacarboranes, homogenous catalysis, small molecule activation and organometallics.
