Professor Wu is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is the Executive Vice Director of Shenzhen Bay Laboratory. His research interest is in 1) Mechanism and stereoselectivity of transition-metal catalyzed organic reactions; 2) Chemistry of early-transition-metal alkyl and alkylidene complexes; 3) Molecular design with natural and non-natural amino acids; 4) Secondary structures and super-secondary structures of peptides; 5) Development of polarizable molecular mechanics force-fields for the study of biomolecules.
