Prof. Zuo-Jun Max Shen

Prof. Zuo-Jun Max Shen, an International Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), is a leading scholar in artificial intelligence and supply chain optimization. He currently holds the position of Chair Professor jointly in the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Hong Kong, and also serves as Senior Advisor to the President and Dean of the Graduate School. After earning his PhD from Northwestern University, he taught at the University of Florida and later at UC Berkeley, where he served as Chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. In 2021, he joined The University of Hong Kong as Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), spearheading the development of several innovation platforms and research institutes. 

He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Operations Research and Management Sciences, and the Production and Operations Management Society. Throughout his career, he has received numerous prestigious international awards in intelligent decision-making, including the Franz Edelman Award, the Wagner Prize, and the Gartner Award. His innovations in AI-driven supply chain optimization have garnered widespread recognition from the global academic community and have delivered significant advancements in sustainability and operational efficiency for enterprises worldwide.
